Training Classes

For many years, Country Lane Pet Resort has provided a variety of training programs for our clientle. In January, 2013 a decision was made to no longer provide on-site training and focus on our core strength – BOARDING. Our contrarian approach to pet care combined with our unique facility and increased demand for boarding has defined our business and confirmed our decision to focus on providing both daycare and overnight boarding services.

We now have two training options for your consideration.

Option One:

Private Training – While your pet is a guest at Country Lane Pet Resort…

Would you like to build the most positive and enjoyable relationship with your dog?

Would you like your dog to act and react appropriately in all situations involving dog to human and dog to dog interactions?

The decisions you make regarding training early on, can make a huge difference in the lifetime relationship between you and your dog.

If you are interested in learning the basics of this special relationship, using only positive reinforcement techniques, then I may be able to assist you.

My name is Mary Howard and I’ve been the Office Manager at Country Lane for many years. I also have a passion for training and have provided training for many of our guests over the past two years.

I offer on-site training to our guests while their families are away and chose to offer this training in a unique environment. One which provides many advantages such as:

– Opportunities to socialization with other dogs

– Opportunities to be exposed to a variety of “real world” natural distractions.

My training fee is one-half of the going private training rates. The training sessions I offer are generally one-half hour in length and are always one on one. They are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

If you are interested in training for your dog, please give me a call at (513) 553-4513. I would be happy to talk with you about your dog’s specific training needs.

I look forward to hearing from you, and to getting to know your “best friend”.

Option Two:

Unleashed Canine Obedience is centrally located and offers a full range of training programs to meet all of our clients’ needs including Board and Train Programs, Private Consolation, Puppy and Group Obedience, and Aggressive Dog Training.

We could not be more pleased to introduce you to Virginia Simpson and invite you to visit her website. Be sure to mention Country Lane Pet Resort when you call and you’ll be well cared for

Cincinnati Dog Trainer – Virginia Simpson –

Virginia Simpson provides her clients and their dogs with a balanced training approach including off-leash obedience solutions. She began her professional career in dog training in 2003, providing in-home training for the clients of the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP), a 501(c)(3) foster care program that helps find homes for displaced animals.

She has been featured on the DIY Channel for a Pet Friendly Landscapes show and is a regular writer for the Cincinnati Dog Pages.  Virginia is a veterinarian recommend trainer and has trained hundreds of pet dogs of all different breeds and also dogs for pshyciatric service.

She began her professional career in dog training in 2003, providing in-home training for the clients of the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP), a 501(c)(3) foster care program that helps find homes for displaced animals.  Through her experiences with SAAP, it quickly became apparent that the #1 reason dogs are given up, hands down, is a lack of or improper behavior training. And so began a passion to educate dogs and their owners!
Virginia went on to mentor under Maureen May of 4 Paws Down and in 2007 received her professional dog training certification from the Animal Behavior College.
She opened Unleashed Canine Obedience in July 2007 and has since received her advanced training certifications in the use of E-Touch™ and the ForceFree™ training methods for a variety of aggression issues in dogs and the implementation of the natural retrieve and forced-fetch at the International School for Dog Trainers with Martin Deeley in Montverde, Florida and Marc Goldberg of Chicagoland School for Dogs.
She has trained with Robin MacFarlane of That’s My Dog in Dubuque, IA and learned some amazing skills with more advanced obedience results. Robin’s exciting training methods have helped countless dogs and their owners create extraordinary bonds and mind-blowing training results.  These techniques have added a remarkable proficiency to Virginia’s abilities to help her clients reach their training goals.
Virginia has also studied Chad Mackin’s Pack to Basic’s program to learn how “to use a dog’s naturally strong social behavior to reduce stress and fear; build confidence and language skills and allowing for many common behavior problems to slip away.”  She attended a 2nd seminar at Heather Beck’s K9 Lifeline with Chad Mackin at the 3D Workshop: Dealing with Difficult Dogs in 2011.
Additionally, she holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas. Due to the ever changing landscape of dog training, Virginia continues her education in dog training techniques and dog behavior through seminars, collaboration with other trainers and workshops.
Virginia has spent thousands of hours working to incorporate a number of balanced training methods into her own personal techniques to develop the UnlE-eashed™ Method.
